Job Summary:

The HR Support Officer will be responsible for managing project staff in remote locations, with a primary focus on Narok. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, agility, and experience in handling various contracting models, including piecemeal work, casual work, and
permanent staff. The role also involves overseeing the contracting and leave management of casual workers, recruitment for technical roles, reporting, payroll submissions, EOSH management, policy design, and staff sensitization.

Salary: Ksh 40,000

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Remote Staff Management: Effectively manage project staff in remote locations, primarily based in Narok.
  2. Casual Worker Management: Handle casual workers, including contracting, leave management, and other related HR functions.
  3. Communication Skills: Demonstrate agility and effective communication skills in a dynamic work environment.
  4. Reporting and Payroll Submissions: Compile and submit accurate reports, manage payroll submissions, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  5. Contracting Models: Work with various contracting models, including piecemeal work, casual work, and permanent staff.
  6. Technical Recruitment: Assist in recruitment processes for technical roles such as surveyors and engineers.
  7. EOSH Management: Demonstrate exposure to Environmental, Occupational Safety, and Health (EOSH) management.
  8. Policy Design and Sensitization: Handle policy design and staff sensitization initiatives.
  9. Payroll Management and Statutory Computations: Manage payroll processes and ensure accurate statutory computations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing project staff in remote locations.
  • Previous experience in handling casual workers and managing their contracting and leave.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment.
  • Experience in reporting, payroll submissions, and statutory compliance.
  • CHRP certification is a PLUS
